Brazil's 2026 Regional Expos Boost Local Economies and Tourism
A series of regional agricultural and cultural expos are slated across Brazil in 2026, each expected to generate significant economic activity and promote tourism. The Expo Itaguaí in Rio de Janeiro runs from 1 to 5 July, offering free admission, rodeos, animal exhibitions, and nightly concerts featuring Maiara & Maraisa, Zé Felipe, Leonardo, Natanzinho Lima, Juliane Souza, Isadora Pompeo, Zezé Di Camargo, Yan and Belo. Organisers stress its role in driving sales for local merchants, hotels and service providers. In Ji‑Paraná, Rondônia, the 45th Expojipa (1 – 5 July) receives a R$ 500 000 grant from the Ministry of Tourism and is projected to create about 1 800 temporary jobs, supporting the agribusiness chain and regional tourism. The 47th Expo PEC in Ituiutaba, Minas Gerais (15 – 19 September) will admit visitors free of charge and feature national artists such as Ana Castela, Alexandre Pires, João Bosco & Vinícius, among others, aiming to attract large crowds and stimulate the local economy. São José do Rio Preto hosts its 63rd Expo Rio Preto (1 – 16 August), the largest agribusiness fair in Northwest São Paulo. The 2025 edition drew over 102 000 visitors and R$ 38.5 million in business, underscoring its regional importance. The Expoacre Juruá in Cruzeiro do Sul, Acre (30 July – 5 August) anticipates record‑breaking trade volumes, with the state industry federation highlighting its impact on employment and income. Other events include the Feira do Trabalho e do Campo in Brasília (until 5 July), supporting family agriculture and solidary economy; the Serra Gaúcha project presented at the eVTOL 2026 forum, planning air‑mobility corridors for tourism starting in 2028; and the 34th Expoaama in Machadinho do Oeste, where deputy Ezequiel Neiva promoted infrastructure investments such as a new retroexcavator and asphalt works.
