Brazilian agricultural markets see shifts in soybean, corn, and cotton trends
Agricultural markets in Brazil are experiencing varied trends across key commodities. In the soybean sector, prices remain firm as producers resist large-scale sales of current and future stocks. This supply restriction, driven by climate concerns regarding El Niño and a strengthening dollar, is supported by international speculation regarding trade agreements between China and the United States.
Corn markets show more stability. While producers are limiting immediate supply due to weather uncertainty following excessive rains in the South and Southeast, buyers are maintaining only punctual acquisitions due to sufficient short-term stocks. This has resulted in minor price adjustments.
In the cotton market, Brazilian producers face improved outlooks due to tight global supply. According to Itaú BBA, a combination of reduced global production, declining stocks, and resilient demand is driving international prices upward. This trend is bolstered by deteriorating crop conditions in the United States and production uncertainties in China and India. The USDA has also revised global production estimates downward for the 2026/27 season, signaling a tighter market balance.
