Brazilian Air Force intercepts aircraft from Bolivia and Venezuela

The Brazilian Air Force (FAB) conducted two separate interceptions of unauthorized aircraft entering Brazilian airspace on October 22 and 23, 2026.

On October 22, in the state of Roraima, FAB A-29 Super Tucano fighters intercepted a black Robinson R44 helicopter arriving from Venezuela. The helicopter was flying at low altitude without a flight plan or identifiable registration. After failing to follow identification procedures, the pilot performed a forced landing approximately 100 kilometers from Boa Vista. Military personnel later found the helicopter abandoned, and the aircraft was subsequently destroyed by security forces.

On October 23, a second interception occurred in Mato Grosso involving a white Cessna aircraft originating from Bolivia. The aircraft was flying without a registered flight plan and an unidentified registration. Following coordination by the Aerospace Operations Command (COMAE) and surveillance by an E-99 aircraft, the Super Tucano intercepted the Cessna, which resulted in a forced landing near Juara. Reports indicate the aircraft was set on fire and the pilot fled the scene.
