Brazilian Army conducts advanced jungle warfare simulations

The Brazilian Army has conducted large-scale military simulations and specialized training exercises in the Amazon region to modernize combat doctrines. In Roraima, a four-day war simulation involving over 1,100 military personnel traversed 550 km, including the Raposa Serra do Sol Indigenous Territory. The exercise utilized armored vehicles, aircraft, and smart sensors integrated into helmets and vests to track real-time casualties and movements for performance reporting.

Complementing these large-scale maneuvers, the 52nd Jungle Infantry Battalion in Marabá, Pará, conducted a specialized hunter training course. These exercises highlight a growing strategic focus on adapting traditional jungle warfare to a modern battlefield. Lessons from the conflict in Ukraine suggest that while traditional scouting remains vital, troops must now operate under constant aerial surveillance, thermal sensors, and electronic warfare, requiring a redefinition of how hunters integrate into modern reconnaissance and attack systems.
