Brazilian Army conducts major cyber defense exercises

The Brazilian Army's Cyber Defense Command is conducting large-scale cybersecurity exercises, including Operação Curupira III as part of the Guardião Cibernético 8.0 program. The initiative has attracted over 3,000 participants from four continents, including civilians, military personnel, and students aged 11 to 18. The exercises utilize a Capture the Flag (CTF) format, covering technical challenges such as web security, cryptography, digital forensics, reverse engineering, and open-source intelligence (OSINT).

Additionally, the Brazilian Army hosted the first cyber defense exercise for the South American Army Cooperation Network (Recesa). This regional initiative focuses on joint responses to digital threats, including complex scenarios involving espionage, artificial intelligence-driven attacks, and attempts to compromise critical infrastructure and essential services. The exercise aims to promote knowledge exchange and improve coordinated security capabilities among South American nations at political, strategic, and operational levels.
