Brazilian art exhibitions celebrate local heritage and folklore

Several art exhibitions in Brazil have been highlighted for their cultural significance. In Caraguatatuba, the Museu de Arte e Cultura de Caraguatatuba (Macc) has extended the exhibition ‘Carelli – O tom de uma vida inteira’ until October 17. The show commemorates the centenary of artist Antonio Carelli, featuring his works inspired by the Atlantic Forest and local fauna, including previously unseen mosaics and ceramic panels.

In Natal, the Pinacoteca Potiguar is hosting ‘O Povo em Festa — Cascudo, Deífilo e o folclore nas artes visuais potiguares’ at Palácio Potengi until October 15. The exhibition honors researchers Luís da Câmara Cascudo and Deífilo Gurgel by showcasing artworks that depict the folklore and popular culture of Rio Grande do Norte, including religious celebrations, traditional music, and local customs.
