Brazilian artists release democracy-themed song featuring 37 musicians
Brazilian artists Carlos Rennó, Ivan Lins, and Edu Krieger have released a new song titled ‘O Vento da Democracia (Vento Bom)’. The track features 37 different musical artists from various genres and generations, including Zeca Pagodinho, Seu Jorge, Daniela Mercury, Maria Gadú, and Zélia Duncan, in a collective defense of democratic values and equality.
Composer Carlos Rennó stated the project serves as an artistic response to the rise of anti-democratic movements globally. The accompanying music video, produced by Coletivo Bijari, utilizes historical photographs by Bob Wolfenson to reflect on Brazilian history.
In related cultural news, singer-songwriter Zélia Duncan is scheduled to appear on TV Brasil’s program ‘Sem Censura’. During the appearance, she will discuss her 21st album, ‘Agudo Grave’, and her 45-year career, while the program also marks the 50th anniversary of the sports show ‘Stadium’.
