Brazilian arts explore themes of time and identity

New artistic productions are highlighting themes of life, time, and identity in Brazil. The film ‘Se Eu Fosse Vivo... Vivia’, directed by André Novais Oliveira, follows a couple, Gilberto and Jacira, across five decades. Starting in Contagem during the 1970s and moving into their later years, the film uses the simplicity of daily routines to explore love and aging.

In the performing arts, the Companhia Lúdica dos Atores is presenting the play ‘Palhaços’ at Funarte. Based on a 1970 text by Timochenco Wehbi, the production uses circus language to explore universal themes. The story centers on a conversation between a clown and a spectator in a dressing room, serving as a space for reflection on abandoned dreams and personal identity.
