Brazilian athletes secure multiple gold medals in sailing and surfing

Brazilian athletes achieved significant success in international competitions. In El Salvador, 18-year-old surfer Luara Mandelli won the bronze medal at the ISA World Junior Surfing Championship 2026, marking the first time a Brazilian woman has reached the podium at this event in twenty years.

At the South American Games in Santa Fe, Argentina, Brazil secured multiple medals in sailing. Juliana Duque and Rafael Martins won the gold medal in the Mixed Snipe category, a victory that also secures a spot for Brazil in the 2027 Pan American Games. Guilherme Plentz claimed gold in the men's iQFoil class.

Additional sailing achievements for Brazil included a silver medal for Philipp Grochtmann in the ILCA7 class and a bronze medal for Valentina Guimarães in the ILCA6 class.
