Brazil wins multiple medals at Paralympic Judo and Triathlon World Championships
Brazil achieved significant success at the Paralympic World Championships in judo and triathlon. In Tbilisi, Georgia, the Brazilian judo delegation secured multiple medals, including three gold medals won by Alana Maldonado, Arthur Silva, and Brenda Freitas. Maldonado earned her fourth world title in the J2 class, while Silva and Freitas successfully defended their previous titles.
The Brazilian judo team also performed strongly in team competitions, securing bronze medals for both the men’s and women’s squads. The women’s team defeated Kazakhstan 4-1, and the men’s team secured bronze after a decisive victory by Deyverson de Souza in a tie-breaker against France. By the end of the judo competition, Brazil held 12 total medals, placing second in the overall standings behind China.
In Pontevedra, Spain, the Brazilian triathlon team also earned a bronze medal in the relay event. This followed a silver medal previously won by Erica Rodrigues in the PTS5 class. The triathlon results further highlight Brazil’s competitive standing in international Paralympic sports.
