Thiago Monteiro reaches Szczecin Open final

Brazilian tennis player Thiago Monteiro has reached the final of the ATP Challenger 125 Invest in Szczecin Open in Poland. Monteiro, currently ranked 282nd, secured his place in the final after a hard-fought three-set victory (6-4, 3-6, 6-3) against Argentina’s Marco Trungelliti.

Monteiro’s path to the final included a straight-sets win over Germany’s Diego Dedura in the quarterfinals. The victory marks his first Challenger final of the 2026 season and serves as a significant milestone in his recovery from a leg muscle injury sustained earlier in the year.

In the final, Monteiro will face Spain’s Nikolas Sanchez Izquierdo. Sanchez Izquierdo advanced to the championship match after defeating Czech player Zdeněk Kolář in straight sets (6-1, 6-3).
