Brazilian authorities hold vehicle and scrap auctions

Various regional authorities in Brazil are conducting vehicle auctions this Wednesday, September 16.

In Rio Grande do Sul, DetranRS is hosting a virtual auction featuring 834 items, including vehicles and scrap metal. The items are held in removal and deposit centers in Guaíba, Porto Alegre, and Eldorado do Sul. Individuals may bid on 636 preserved vehicles suitable for circulation, such as a 2015 Ford Ecosport and a 2022/2023 Nissan Frontier. Registered vehicle dismantling companies are eligible to bid on 37 lots of scrap metal intended for parts reuse.

In Curitiba, the Municipal Secretariat of Social Defense and Traffic (SMDT) is holding an electronic auction for 27 vehicles seized during traffic inspections. The auction includes vehicles in circulation condition, usable scrap, and scrap with unserviceable engines. Bidding will occur in stages throughout the day via the Vip Leilões website. Participation is open to both individuals and legal entities, though scrap metal lots are restricted to specialized dismantling companies registered with Detran.
