Brazilian authorities order arrest in cat abandonment case
A judge in Piracicaba, Brazil, has ordered the preventive arrest of a man accused of abandoning four cats in an apartment in the Nova Suíça neighborhood. Two of the cats died due to a lack of food and water, while the remaining two were rescued in critical condition and hospitalized for advanced weakness.
Investigations reveal that the suspect traveled and locked the animals inside the residence. Although he initially hired a caregiver, he reportedly stopped payments and dismissed the professional, falsely claiming he had already relocated the cats. Neighbors alerted the police after noticing a strong odor emanating from the property.
Civil Police are currently searching for the suspect to execute the arrest warrant.
