Brazilian authorities seize smuggled electronics and unauthorized medications

Law enforcement agencies in Brazil have conducted significant seizures of smuggled goods and unauthorized products in separate operations.

In Mato Grosso, the Federal Highway Police (PRF) intercepted over 1,500 illicit items on the BR-364 highway near Rondonópolis and Jaciara. The seizure included approximately 1,350 bottles of imported perfumes and cosmetics, 550 ampoules of anabolic steroids, and various electronics such as iPhones and household appliances. Additionally, authorities found 140 ampoules of the unauthorized medication Tirzepatide. Four individuals were detained on suspicion of smuggling, tax evasion, and crimes against public health.

In Paraná, the Federal Revenue Service seized a shipment of electronic devices at the Foz do Iguaçu International Airport. The haul, valued at approximately R$ 1 million, included 30 units of the recently released iPhone 18 Pro Max and 70 other electronic devices. The items were discovered in the luggage of two Brazilian passengers attempting to board a flight to Salvador.
