Brazilian authors Hermance Gomes and Edison Costa launch new books
Judge and writer Hermance Gomes Pereira released his fourth book, *Agregados e Visitantes*, on Thursday, 30 May, at the auditorium of the Centro Judiciário de Solução de Conflitos e Cidadania in João Pessoa, Paraíba. The volume gathers a selection of his chronicles previously published on the Portal MaisPB, along with previously unpublished pieces, and features a prefacing essay by writer and academic Gil Messias.
Collector‑writer Edison Costa launched his new title, *Garimpo da Cachaça*, on Saturday, 1 June, at the Casa de Cultura Heloísa Alberto Torres in Itaboraí, Rio de Janeiro. The book recounts more than two decades of research and travels across Brazil in search of cachaça bottle labels, highlighting the cultural heritage of the spirit. Costa, who holds the national record for the largest cachaça label collection, shares stories from his visits to distilleries, fairs and festivals.
