Brazilian Santander bank workers deliver claim draft to bank headquarters

On 22 June, representatives of Santander employees in Brazil handed a collectively drafted claim to the bank's São Paulo headquarters, marking the start of negotiations for the 2026 National Bank Workers Campaign.

The claim was approved at the 28th National Conference of Bank Workers held 21‑23 June in São Paulo, where more than 630 delegates adopted demands such as a 5 % real wage increase, an end to abusive targets, preservation of the collective bargaining agreement, protection of bank jobs, defence of public banks, a fair share of technology gains and privacy safeguards for remote work. Coordinator Ana Marta Lima said the draft “reflects the needs of Santander workers and will be the basis of negotiations and mobilisations.”

A state‑level plenary in Paraná on 23 June presented the draft online via Zoom and opened further debate through the Vota Bem platform, allowing bank workers across Brazil to discuss the proposals before they are taken to the national bargaining table.
