Brazilian bank leaders to debate AI impact at Febraban Tech 2026
Leaders from Brazil’s largest financial institutions are set to discuss the impact of artificial intelligence and intelligent agents at the Febraban Tech 2026 event. The panel will feature executives from Itaú Unibanco, Banco do Brasil, Bradesco, Nubank, Santander Brasil, Caixa, and BTG Pactual, focusing on how these technologies are reshaping scale, trust, and value in the sector.
According to the Febraban Technology Research 2026 by Deloitte, technology budgets for Brazilian banks have grown 58% over the last five years and are projected to reach R$ 50.4 billion in 2026. Cybersecurity remains a priority for 100% of surveyed institutions, while 84% identified generative AI as a key focus. This digital shift is supported by data showing that 83% of Brazilian banking transactions are now conducted through digital channels.
In a separate development, Banco Arbi announced plans to expand its use of AI agents within its credit ecosystem. The bank aims to deploy agents for products such as credit cards, personal credit, and market CDBs. Currently, the bank utilizes AI for customer acquisition and service via WhatsApp, reporting a 54% conversion rate and a 94% reduction in service time for certain loan products.
