Brazilian Beer Market Hits R$13 Billion as Protein‑Fortified Non‑Alcoholic Brew Launches

The Brazilian beer sector generated roughly R$13 billion in sales over the 12‑month period ending June 2026, a 17% increase from the previous year, according to data from CREST and WISE SALES of the Instituto Foodservice Brasil (IFB). While total revenue rose, the number of purchase occasions fell by 3%, with 369.2 million transactions recorded. Consumption remains concentrated among adults aged 35‑59, who account for two‑thirds of purchases, and men represent about 61% of the market.

Bars and pubs continue to dominate distribution, supplying about one‑third of all beer sales, followed by supermarkets and hypermarkets. Convenience and habit are the top reasons consumers choose beer, each cited by over half of respondents. A notable trend is the introduction of a non‑alcoholic beer enriched with protein, promoted as a functional beverage. Analysts view this product as part of a broader cultural shift where consumers seek health‑related justifications for indulgent foods and drinks, turning protein into a symbol of disciplined, wellness‑focused consumption.
