Brazilian broadcast television faces audience retention challenges
Data from a Quaest survey indicates that while broadcast television maintains a significant reach among the Brazilian population, it faces increasing difficulty in retaining audience attention. In a July study regarding political information habits, social media reached 37% among independent segments, surpassing television at 35%.
The research highlights a shift in consumer behavior as viewers increasingly turn to streaming services, YouTube, and social media platforms. The findings suggest that for broadcast television to remain competitive, it must move beyond merely filling programming schedules and focus more on content delivery to prevent the loss of viewing habits.
