Brazilian business and tourism sectors focus on security and innovation

Business and tourism leaders in Brazil are addressing security and innovation challenges. During a monthly meeting of five-star hotel general managers hosted by HotéisRIO at the Windsor Barra, representatives from the 31st Military Police Battalion (31º BPM) discussed safety strategies for the Barra da Tijuca and surrounding regions. Key topics included ‘Operation Zero Tolerance’ to increase security in tourist areas and a specialized security operation for the upcoming Rock in Rio festival, which is expected to deploy approximately 900 officers.

Separately, the National Confederation of Trade in Goods, Services and Tourism (CNC) held its 7th Board Meeting in Paraty. The meeting focused on the impact of crime on economic activity, specifically the effects of cargo theft on retail. The CNC also highlighted preparations for ‘Tech Day 2026’, an event aimed at connecting business leaders with the national innovation ecosystem, and discussed the 2026 CNC Innovation Survey to diagnose technological practices and challenges within the tertiary sector.
