Brazilian businessman found dead in Turkey during deportation process

The family of Lucas Nascimento de Medeiros, a 33-year-old Brazilian businessman from Natal, is seeking answers regarding his death in Turkey. Medeiros had traveled to the country for tourism but was subsequently detained by local authorities.

According to family reports and a police report filed in Brazil, the incident may have stemmed from a religious dispute in Turkey. Medeiros reportedly contacted his mother stating, ‘Mom, I did nothing, I am being deported.’

While the family expected him to be under the protection of authorities until his return to Brazil, he was found dead in a hotel room. The family has expressed concern over the lack of information regarding the reasons for his detention and the specific circumstances surrounding his death.
