Brazilian candidates propose agricultural and agribusiness policy reforms

Political candidates in Brazil are focusing on agricultural development and agribusiness policies during their campaigns.

In Rondônia, state deputy candidate Wiveslando Neiva (PL) has emphasized the importance of strengthening family farming to boost the state's economy and increase rural income. Neiva noted that family farming accounts for approximately 70% of the state's agricultural production. His proposed measures include providing technical assistance, equipment, improving rural roads, and creating better conditions for the commercialization of products.

In Mato Grosso do Sul, Senate candidate Reinaldo Azambuja (PL) met with agricultural representatives in Aquidauana to discuss federal policies for the agribusiness sector. Producers and industry leaders highlighted the need for better access to credit, improved infrastructure, and legal security. Discussions also addressed challenges such as commodity price fluctuations, exchange rate volatility, and the rising costs of diesel, fertilizers, and nutrients.
