Brazilian candidates propose labor and security reforms

Brazilian political candidates from the PSTU and PCO have presented platforms focused on radical labor and security reforms.

Hertz Dias, a PSTU presidential candidate, proposes ending the 6x1 work schedule and reducing the workweek to 36 hours without salary cuts. His platform also includes the revocation of labor and pension reforms, the elimination of tax benefits for large corporations, and the implementation of a progressive tax on fortunes exceeding R$ 1 billion. Additionally, he advocates for the formal recognition of employment ties for app-based workers and the end of outsourcing.

Ednelson Cesaretti, a PCO candidate for the Senate in São Paulo, proposes a 5x2 work schedule with a 35-hour workweek to stimulate employment. Regarding public security, Cesaretti calls for the abolition of the Military Police, citing high lethality rates, and suggests the creation of worker-controlled community defense organizations. He also argues that national resources, such as oil and rare earths, should be managed to serve the working class.
