Brazilian canoeists to compete in World Championships in Poland

Brazilian sprint canoeists, including several athletes from southern Bahia, are set to compete in the Canoe Sprint World Championships in Poznan, Poland, from August 26 to 30. The delegation includes Isaquias Queiroz, Valdenice Conceição, Jacky Godmann, Mateus de Souza, and Gabriel Nascimento.

The competition will take place at Lago Malta, a venue with a history of hosting major international regattas. The Brazilian team enters the event following a successful season, having secured two medals in the recent World Cup stage and seven podium finishes during the Pan-American Championships in July.

Isaquias Queiroz, a prominent figure in the sport, aims to secure medals and accumulate critical points for the Olympic ranking ahead of the Los Angeles 2028 Games. Coach Lauro de Souza Jr. noted the team's evolution and strong preparation, positioning Brazil as a major power in American sprint canoeing.
