Brazilian Catholic Church Observes 16th Sunday of Common Time

The Archdiocese of São Sebastião do Rio de Janeiro marked the 16th Sunday of Ordinary Time with a Mass that emphasized the silent growth of God’s Kingdom, urging families to deepen their faith through prayer, the Eucharist and charitable living.

In a related reflection, Bishop Anuar Battisti of the National Conference of Bishops of Brazil (CNBB) highlighted the Gospel passage about a man selling everything to buy a hidden treasure, urging believers to seek wisdom and discernment over material concerns, and to embrace the joy of true spiritual sacrifice.
