Brazilian cinema highlighted with festival debut in Belém and free screening in São Paulo
The short film “Notas de uma (Ré)memórIA” explores memory, music and artificial intelligence through a dialogue between an older professor and a tech‑savvy student. It premiered at the third edition of the Festival Val de Cannes, a university‑run audiovisual event in Belém, organized by the Centro Universitário do Estado do Pará (CESUPA).
The same week, the Instituto Guimarães Rosa São Tomé hosted a free screening of the award‑winning feature “Oeste Outra Vez”, directed by Erico Rassi. The film, which won Best Film, Best Photography and Best Supporting Actor at the 52nd Festival de Cinema de Gramado, was shown at the Cine Brasil program on 5 June, highlighting contemporary Brazilian cinema.
