Paweł Pawlikowski’s ‘A Terra do Meu Pai’ to launch in Brazil on Oct. 29
The black‑and‑white drama ‘A Terra do Meu Pai’ (international title Fatherland) by Oscar‑winning director Paweł Pawlikowski earned the Cannes Film Festival’s Best Director prize in 2026. The film, starring Oscar‑nominee Sandra Hüller alongside Hanns Zischler, August Diehl, Devid Striesow and Anna Madeley, follows Nobel laureate Thomas Mann and his daughter Erika on a post‑war journey across a divided Germany.
MUBI and Brazilian distributor Imovision announced that the film will open in Brazilian cinemas on 29 October 2026. It will also have a pre‑release screening at the 50th Mostra Internacional de Cinema in São Paulo, running from 15 to 29 October.
The release marks the first national showing of the Cannes‑awarded work, which was co‑written by Pawlikowski and Henk Handloegten and produced by a consortium that includes Italy’s OUR Films, Poland’s Extreme Emotions, Germany’s Nine Hours and France’s Chapter 2.
