Brazilian cities advance housing projects in São José de Ribamar and Camaçari

In São José de Ribamar, mayor Dr. Julinho's "Agora é Meu" program handed out 47 land‑title certificates to families in the Novo Horizonte community, granting them legal ownership and averting forced evictions. Secretary of the municipal regularization office Paula Miranda said, "We managed to prevent families from being removed from their homes and secured the area for the municipality, making the occupation legal and officially recognized."

Meanwhile, in Camaçari, municipal housing, infrastructure and urban development agencies reported that the Novo Horizonte I and II residential complexes, part of the Minha Casa, Minha Vida program, are 89% complete. The two projects will deliver 464 apartments—about 2,000 new homes—by December 2026, featuring community centers, libraries, sports courts and other amenities.
