Paranaguá Port Projects Receive Nearly R$16 Million for Concrete Pavement Upgrade
Portos do Paraná has committed almost R$15.7 million to pave sections of Avenida Coronel José Lobo and Rua Manoel Corrêa in Paranaguá with concrete, aiming to improve traffic flow for heavy‑vehicle transport and extend road durability. The contract, signed on 19 June, sets a 14‑month deadline for completion and follows earlier investments of R$8.6 million on other city streets.
Similar infrastructure initiatives are underway across Brazil: Franca’s "Asfalto Novo" program is allocating R$26 million to resurface key avenues, while Campo Grande’s Jardim Jerusalém project will receive R$5.21 million for asphalt paving and drainage upgrades. Altos in Piauí has refurbished over 140 km of rural roads and paved dozens of urban streets with a R$6 million budget. Cuiabá’s Fernando Corrêa avenue redesign will enhance safety for more than 3,300 families, and Mato Grosso’s MT‑130 highway is slated for a R$55.3 million revamp to boost safety and freight capacity.
Additional local works include the paving and LED lighting of Rua Santa Luzia in Campo Maior, and the final asphalt layer on Teresópolis’s “Reta” avenue, part of a broader sewage‑network upgrade serving 115 000 residents. Collectively, these projects reflect a nationwide push to modernise urban mobility, improve road safety, and support economic activity through targeted public‑sector investments.
