Brazilian Cities Deliver Pet Food and Winter Clothing Aid to Vulnerable Residents

The municipality of Campo Grande's Animal Welfare Superintendence distributed more than 26 tonnes of pet food to registered NGOs, supporting over 3,700 dogs and cats rescued from the streets. The program, launched in 2023, aims to ease the daily financial burden of shelters and improve nutrition for animals awaiting adoption.

In Dourados, the municipal social assistance department completed a winter clothing drive that handed out over 13,000 items—including coats, blankets and shoes—to families in need. Mayor Marçal Filho and First Lady Patrícia Leite attended the event, noting the campaign’s role in protecting vulnerable residents from cold weather and expressing hopes to exceed 20,000 pieces by the end of the season.
