Brazilian cities host concerts and festivals celebrating local culture

The Municipal Guard Band of Itaboraí held a special concert on 1 August at the Paleontological Park, part of the Educasom project that aims to strengthen cultural belonging among students. Municipal security secretary Heitor Baldow and guard musician Ronaldo Meireles highlighted the initiative’s role in community integration.

João Pessoa’s Festa das Neves will run from 3 to 5 August at Parque Solon de Lucena, featuring popular‑culture groups such as Gran Circo Puma and Ciranda do Sol. Funjope executive director Marcus Alves said the event continues a six‑year tradition of showcasing local traditions.

The Festival de Lençóis 2026 is scheduled for 4–6 September in Lençóis, Bahia, expanding to include a Festival of Popular Cultures for the first time. Festival director Paula Resende described the addition as a celebration of regional identity. Confirmed musical acts include Rachel Reis, Larissa Luz, Banjo Novo, Michel Teló and Cidade Negra, alongside workshops on environment and well‑being.
