Brazilian cities Itaquaquecetuba and Ibiporã launch major municipal hall renovations

The mayor of Itaquaquecetuba, Eduardo Boigues, has begun a R$19.1 million overhaul of the city’s Paço Municipal, funded through the state’s Desenvolve SP program. The project, started on 7 May and slated for 24 months, will modernise the existing building and add a new annex with upgraded electrical, hydraulic, climate‑control, accessibility, photovoltaic and security systems, creating a fully integrated municipal complex.

In Ibiporã, the municipal administration reports that renovation of its Paço Municipal is 90 % complete and expected to be handed over within roughly 90 days. Recent works include installation of façade brises for light control and acoustic comfort, alongside repairs of long‑standing structural defects such as leaks, rusted frames and cracked foundations, improving safety and service quality for residents.
