Cuiabá launches cleaning operations for elections and flood prevention

The City of Cuiabá is conducting several urban maintenance and sanitation operations. Through Limpurb, the city is launching ‘Operação Eleições Limpas’, a special cleaning initiative involving 210 workers. This operation aims to ensure public spaces around voting locations remain organized and clean during the election period, with teams working before, during, and after voting hours.

Simultaneously, the Municipal Secretariat of Infrastructure and Works (SMINFRA) and the Civil Defense are reinforcing drainage maintenance. They have completed the cleaning of storm drains (bocas de lobo) at nine identified high-risk flood points, with four additional locations scheduled for inspection and cleaning in October. These preventive measures are designed to improve water runoff and mitigate flooding risks in various neighborhoods.
