Várzea Grande Gets R$131,800 Pix Saúde Grant to Boost Primary Care
On Friday, the municipality of Várzea Grande in Mato Grosso received a R$131,800 allocation from the federal Pix Saúde programme. The funds are earmarked for the construction of a new basic health unit and other primary‑care improvements.
The grant is part of a nationwide release of R$577.2 million to 393 health‑infrastructure projects under the Novo PAC Saúde. Local officials Mayor Flávia Moretti and Health Secretary Valéria Nogueira said the money will be directed to three priority works, including expanding a CAPS centre and building a new maternity facility. “Vamos definir de forma técnica, juntamente com a prefeita Flávia Moretti, onde esses recursos serão melhor investidos,” Nogueira said. Ministry of Health superintendant Pedro Henrique Santos Dias highlighted the collaborative funding between municipal, state and federal levels.
