Brazilian cities launch new local cinema programs
The Cineclube Primavera project began its three‑month season in Primavera do Leste, Mato Grosso, offering free screenings of short, medium and feature films produced in the state. The inaugural session featured the shorts “Reverso” by Kayra Ribas, “Mais uma vez a última vez” by Rodsley Gomes and “Passos por trás do olhar” by Gabriel Lesko, followed by a discussion with the directors. The program, supported by municipal and state cultural agencies, aims to broaden access to regional cinema and engage the community.
Meanwhile, the Fundação Cultural de Palmas opened a new schedule at Cine Cultura – Sala Sinhozinho in Palmas, Tocantins. The lineup runs from 6 to 12 May and includes the German drama “Uma infância alemã,” the French biopic “A divina Sarah Bernhardt,” and the Brazilian romance “Apenas coisas boas.” Ticket prices range from R$ 10 to R$ 20, with discounts for students and seniors, and the films are shown in original audio with Portuguese subtitles.
