Brazilian traffic agencies launch expanded safety education programs
Municipal authorities in João Câmara (RN) hosted a meeting with state and federal road safety agencies to advance the Vidas no Trânsito program, aiming to analyse hospital data on traffic injuries and develop inter‑sectoral policies, educational projects and road‑safety interventions.
The Mato Grosso State Department of Transit (Detran‑MT) reported 26 educational actions in June that reached more than 7,000 participants across the state, including school talks, festivals with the Federal Highway Police and two motorcycle “Pit Stop” events.
In Mato Grosso do Sul, Detran‑MS took part in the Safrinha Segura 2026 campaign at a grain‑storage facility in Dourados, providing health checks and safety briefings to about 40 truck drivers, and demonstrating the effects of alcohol impairment with simulator glasses.
During the Expoacre Juruá fair in Acre, the Detran stand featured a traffic‑simulation device that let visitors experience realistic driving scenarios, complemented by a mini‑city, educational theater and interactive games. The event also introduced a private counseling room by the state women's secretariat (Semulher) to assist women experiencing violence or needing psychosocial support.
