Brazilian cities Marília and Niterói report progress on 2026 municipal plans

The municipal government of Marília held its 15th secretariat meeting, presenting June actions and a strategic plan for the next three years. Mayor Vinicius Camarinha highlighted nearly R$ 40 million secured for road resurfacing, a new R$ 200 thousand mobile health van for the homeless, and health data showing a 21% flu‑vaccination rate among children but zero dengue deaths. In education, enrolments of children with autism rose to 911 and specialized support slots increased from 62 to 408, with plans to distribute tracking bracelets for autistic students in August.

In Niterói, the 15th meeting of municipal managers reported that almost 60% of the 2026 goal‑set have been achieved. Mayor Rodrigo Neves noted the completion of the “Fila Zero” program delivering 120 000 private‑sector medical exams, the inauguration of a new Family Health Module, and the continuation of major health‑facility projects. All children aged 0‑6 are now enrolled in municipal schools, and 300 support staff have been hired for students with disabilities. The city also opened the Casa Smart tech hub, launched a university‑housing subsidy, began construction of a new municipal guard headquarters, and signed a cooperation agreement with UN‑Habitat for urban‑development projects.
