Rio de Janeiro achieves AAA credit rating from Fitch Ratings

Rio de Janeiro has achieved a historic milestone as Fitch Ratings elevated the city's credit rating from AA+ to AAA, the highest level on the national scale. This upgrade signifies a restoration of fiscal credibility and investor confidence in the municipality.

Managing a municipal budget of approximately R$ 50 billion, the achievement reflects significant management efforts regarding revenue collection from taxes such as ISS and IPTU, alongside adherence to constitutional debt principles. This AAA rating is expected to result in lower credit costs for the city.
