Brazilian cities prepare for major Christmas celebrations

Municipalities in Brazil are preparing for upcoming Christmas festivities. In Maringá, the ‘Maringá Encantada’ event is scheduled to begin on November 14. This year’s program features a partnership with MSP Estúdios, which will bring Turma da Mônica characters to the celebrations. The festivities include interactive scenarios at Praça Renato Celidônio and an extensive lighting installation covering over 317 kilometers of light strings across 4,000 trees.

In Sorocaba, the city administration under Mayor Rodrigo Manga has estimated an investment of R$ 3.75 million for the ‘Natal Iluminado’ event. This represents an 87.5% increase compared to the previous year. The budget covers the infrastructure for lighting, decoration, and the management of a ‘Vila Natalina’ featuring a stage and 20 small houses. The municipal government stated the increased spending reflects an expansion of the festive structure to provide broader coverage for the population.
