Brazilian cities prepare for September 7 civic parades
Various municipalities in Brazil are preparing for traditional civic parades to celebrate Independence Day on September 7.
In Feira de Santana, the marching band of Colégio Estadual Luís Viana Filho has increased its rehearsal frequency to three times per week. The school plans to feature approximately 120 students in the parade, with themes focusing on the value of human life, social inclusion, and the prevention of violence against women.
In São Mateus, the municipal education department is organizing a parade expected to involve 2,500 students from 89 schools. The event will follow the theme ‘Protagonists of the Present: Education, Innovation, and Sustainability,’ which aligns with the United Nations’ 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The procession will include various public and private institutions, military and civil corporations, and 15 marching bands.
