Brazilian cities Taquara and Blumenau enact new traffic direction changes
In Taquara, Rio Grande do Sul, the municipal traffic department implemented one‑way traffic on two streets on Monday, 3 May. Rua Lothar De La Rue in the city centre now runs one‑way between Rua Arnaldo da Costa Barth and Rua Dr. Adelino Eduardo Barth, while the adjacent segment remains two‑way. In the Empresa neighbourhood, the stretch of Rua Olímpio Cândido da Silva between Rua Luiz de Carvalho and Rua do DAER was also changed to one‑way toward the DAER.
In Blumenau, Santa Catarina, part of Rua Alberto Stein was closed from 4 August 2026 to allow the construction of the Febratex 2026 exhibition site at Parque Vila Germânica. Traffic was rerouted, with the opposite lane operating as two‑way to maintain flow. The closure will stay in place for the subsequent 41st Oktoberfest Blumenau, with parking restrictions and new no‑parking signs installed to ensure safety and traffic fluidity.
