Brazilian city councilors push for road inspections and bus shelters

In the city of Joaçaba, councilor Alcione Marchezini presented a proposal requesting the municipal government to carry out technical inspections of streets and rural roads during and after heavy rainfall. The aim is to identify vulnerable drainage points, such as clogged culverts and undersized pipes, and to plan upgrades that would reduce flooding, road damage and safety risks.

In Araraquara, councilor Marcelinho of the Progressistas party submitted an indication asking the mayor to install a concrete bench and a covered shelter at a bus stop on Avenida Antônio de Pádua Corrêa in the Jardim Nova América neighbourhood. The measure is intended to protect passengers from sun and rain, improve accessibility and enhance the urban infrastructure of the area.

Both proposals await municipal approval and are intended to improve public safety and the quality of local infrastructure.
