Brazilian classical music festivals launch free concerts in Juiz de Fora and online streams in Santa Catarina

The 37th edition of the International Festival of Brazilian Colonial and Early Music began on Friday, August 24, in Juiz de Fora, Minas Gerais. Organized by the Federal University of Juiz de Fora, the festival offers free concerts across the Teatro Paschoal Carlos Magno, Cine‑Theatre Central and the Capela Sagrada Família. In Santa Catarina, the 20th International Festival of Music of Santa Catarina (Femusc) continues its program in Jaraguá do Sul, broadcasting daily concerts live on the Institute Femusc YouTube channel. The festival, the largest school‑classical festival in Latin America, presents 711 works in 201 concerts, including opera performances such as *Madama Butterfly*, orchestral works, and a special MPB show with musician Guinga. The live streams are free, high‑definition, and later posted individually online, expanding the festival’s reach beyond the city.
