Brazilian companies adopt foresight for strategic planning
Brazilian firms are increasingly using foresight—a practice that maps weak signals, builds scenarios and guides strategic choices—to strengthen innovation, risk management and leadership. The World Economic Forum describes strategic foresight as the ability to explore multiple plausible futures and develop resilient strategies. Its 2025 report warned of heightened geopolitical, technological, climate and economic uncertainties, while a 2026 analysis highlighted that inter‑generational and diverse perspectives can help leaders detect market signals early and curb short‑term bias.
The United Nations Development Programme’s 2024 publication on Latin America and the Caribbean noted that integrating foresight into public institutions can improve policy planning and outcomes, reinforcing the relevance of the approach for complex environments. In Brazil, the Future Skills Masterclass in São Paulo (19‑20 August 2026) will focus on post‑AI innovation and leadership in continuous transformation, covering topics such as artificial intelligence, adaptability, critical thinking, collaboration, decision‑making, creative problem‑solving and foresight techniques. The event targets leaders, decision‑makers, innovators, HR professionals, marketers and creative industry executives.
The growing adoption of foresight signals a shift from reactive responses to proactive planning, as companies aim to monitor emerging variables across technology, society, economics and regulation and prepare leaders for uncertain futures.
