Brazilian companies maintain ESG and diversity values

A study by consultancy Santo Caos reveals that 51% of the 500 largest Brazilian companies maintain ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) or diversity and inclusion (DE&I) among their declared institutional values. Out of 456 companies analyzed, 233 include sustainability, ESG, or inclusion and identity in their principles. The data shows that state-owned enterprises lead these metrics, with 69% declaring ESG and 48% declaring DE&I values, while publicly traded companies show lower rates at 28% and 27%, respectively.

In parallel, regulatory and management focus remains on salary equality for companies with 100 or more employees. Implementing salary transparency is highlighted as a key strategy for reducing inequality, improving talent retention, and increasing institutional reputation. Effective evaluation requires internal audits, transparent methodologies considering variables like seniority and performance, and the publication of accessible reports to explain discrepancies and correction plans.
