XP Inc. and C6 Bank report growth in Brazilian financial results
Brazilian financial institutions reported varied results for the second quarter of 2026. XP Inc. recorded an adjusted net profit of R$ 1.38 billion, a 5% increase compared to the previous year. Despite market volatility and losses of approximately R$ 420 million due to mark-to-market effects, the company saw gross revenue rise by 8% to R$ 5.056 billion. Total client assets reached R$ 2.2 trillion, supported by a significant net inflow of R$ 28 billion, which nearly tripled compared to the same period last year.
CEO Thiago Maffra noted that the results reflect the company’s expansion into wholesale banking and its strategy of business diversification. While the return on equity (ROE) fell to 22.5% due to a conservative capital retention stance, the company continues to focus on internationalization and expanding its corporate services.
Separately, C6 Bank reported a 20% increase in first-half profits, reaching R$ 1.3 billion. This growth was primarily driven by increased lending in vehicle financing and payroll-deductible loans. The bank’s net revenue for the semester hit a record R$ 6.3 billion, representing a 48% increase year-over-year.
