Brazilian Courts Order Facebook and Google to Restore Account and Reveal YouTube Publisher

The 7th Small Claims Court and Consumer Relations Court in São Luís ordered Facebook Serviços Online do Brasil Ltda. to reinstate a lawyer’s Instagram account used for professional purposes. The platform must restore all functionalities within five days, with a daily fine of R$200 up to a maximum of R$5 000 for non‑compliance.

Separately, the 3rd Civil Court of Jabaquara in São Paulo mandated Google Brazil Internet Ltda. to provide the IP address, connection port, date and time data that can identify the YouTuber who posted a video linking a WePink eyelash product to alleged blindness. The data must be supplied within 15 days.
