Brazilian Courts Strengthen Outreach with Institutional Visits

The Associação Nacional de Desembargadores (ANDES) sent a delegation to the Tribunal de Justiça do Espírito Santo (TJES) in Vitória on 5 August. The visit was hosted by TJES President Desembargadora Janete Vargas Simões and Vice‑President Desembargador Fernando Zardini Antonio, who also sits on ANDES’s deliberative council. Delegates presented the association’s academic work, discussed the importance of associativism for second‑instance magistrates, and reviewed ongoing judicial reform projects in the Brazilian Senate and the National Justice Council.

On 4 August, the Memorial of the Tribunal de Justiça do Distrito Federal e dos Territórios (TJDFT) welcomed a group of students from Faculdade Sinergia in Navegantes, Santa Catarina. The three‑hour tour took the visitors through historic court spaces—including the Galeria da Administração Superior, the plenary chamber, the library, and the literary space named after Desembargadora Maria Thereza Haynes—while providing insight into the court’s history and functions. The program is part of TJDFT’s educational outreach aimed at bringing the judiciary closer to the public.
