Brazilian cultural arts gain visibility through photography forums and Paris exhibitions

The Instituto Moreira Salles (IMS) Poços de Caldas is hosting the third meeting of the AGORA project, titled “Photography, Community, and Territory.” Led by Thyago Nogueira, the event explores how photography serves as a tool for constructing memory, identity, and social transformation. The discussion will highlight various artists and collectives, including the Lakapoy indigenous collective, the Archivo de la Memoria Trans Argentina, and international figures such as Nan Goldin and Zanele Muholi.

In a separate cultural development, ceramics from Brazil’s Vale do Jequitinhonha are being showcased in Paris. Through a partnership between Sebrae Minas and the government, approximately 150 works from communities such as Campo Alegre and Coqueiro Campo are being presented at the Ricardo Fernandes Gallery during Paris Design Week. Additionally, the crafts will be featured at Maison & Objet, an international design and decoration fair, to connect regional artisans with global buyers, architects, and designers.
