Brazilian cultural events feature French‑film discussion in João Pessoa and literary panel in Paraty
At Cinema Passeio in João Pessoa, the public conversation “A influência do cinema francês no cinema paraibano” brought together filmmaker Bertrand Lira, professor‑documentarian João de Lima and director Mariana Silveira. The talk, part of a July series showcasing French films through a partnership of Funjope, the French Embassy and Alliance Française, highlighted works by Michel Ocelot, Mathieu Kassovitz, Alain Resnais and others.
In Paraty, the Casa da Cultura hosted a literary‑film panel titled “100 Dias – Entre o livro e o filme.” Moderator Marcelo Tas joined explorer‑author Amyr Klink, director Carlos Saldanha, actor Filipe Bragança and screenwriters Elena Soare and Thais Tavares to discuss adapting Klink’s memoir of his solo Atlantic crossing into a feature film slated for release on 29 October. The panel explored narrative choices and the challenges of bringing the adventure to the screen.
